About

I am an experienced game designer, who cut his teeth working at studios for 7 years in London and Brighton. Having published a board game, Dreaming Spires, and nearly finished indie video game, Rise: Battle Lines, with friends from the industry, in 2015, I took the plunge and left my lead designer role at Beatnik Games to work full time at my newly-founded indie studio The Secret Games Company.

I was born in 1984 and hold dual British and American citizenship. I graduated from Oxford University with a 2.1 in PPP (Psychology and Philosophy) in 2006. After developing two board games and getting one signed to a US publisher, I began my games career as design assistant to the celebrated board game designer, Reiner Knizia.

I play games of all shapes and sizes and enjoy everything from Peggle to Paradox’s latest, I love a board game and will even get involved in casual sport but I do have a few favourites: Civilization, Hearthstone, Mass Effect, Advance Wars, FTL & SpaceChem. I also run a card game design workshop at the British Museum called Reshuffling the Deck.

If you would like to get in touch regarding work or play, I’d be happy to hear from you at jeremy [at] secretgamescompany [dot] com
